Thompson Middle School, a California Distinguished School, serves students in grades six through eight. Thompson Middle School is committed to quality educational programs for all students. To this end, we will continue to use standards-based curriculum and tests to provide a strong base for our instructional program. We want to develop each student’s skills to meet life’s challenges with honesty, integrity, courage, and the desire to reach for intellectual and personal excellence for the betterment of the community, the nation, and the world.

Our Mission at Thompson Middle School is to educate and support students as they develop into lifelong learners by providing a nurturing environment where academic and personal excellence can be achieved.
Description of Campus:
The school currently has 54 classrooms, a multipurpose room, two computer labs, science labs, physical education locker rooms, a football/soccer field, running track, two softball fields and three basketball courts. In addition, the school has a library, cafeteria, administrative offices, and a staff lounge.
The administration, support staff, teachers, and parents are all active participants in providing direction and resources for the improvement of the instructional program at Thompson. Thompson Middle School students attend an academically challenging six-period school day. The curriculum centers on the core areas of language arts, math, social studies and science closely aligned with state standards and enhanced by physical education and exploratory courses. Regular classes, advanced classes in the core subjects, and intervention classes to improve basic skills are all designed to improve our students’ opportunities for success in high school.
